Staff member(s) for the babysitting and children’s programming at this year’s Annual Conference are needed.  You must be available for the entire conference, June 7-10, plus set up on June 6.  Minimum age for staff is 18.   This is a paid position with housing and meals provided.

For more information or to apply, contact Cassandra Negri at childrensministry@nyac-umc.com.

Local Churches – your pastor will be at Annual Conference on Sunday, June 10th
but worship will happen at your church!

It has been a long time since Annual Conference included a Sunday.  We are expecting all pastors will be attending the worship and ordination at Hofstra on Sunday, June 10th.
And, we expect that all local churches will have worship that Sunday.  Within each District there are Lay Servants who will not be at Annual Conference who can provide guidance for your churches.
Take this opportunity for all churches to worship with Annual Conference on Sunday, June 10th.  Annual Conference is available online, and most certainly Sunday Worship and Ordination will be available for all of those not able to attend in person – to attend via social media.  It all starts at 10:00AM.  Your Sunday worship on June 10th might look different; it might be at a different time; it might be in a different location.  How exciting it might be to all join together!
If your church has internet – then your church can live stream!  If you do not have internet, invite yourself to a church that does have it.  We will work by District and find those churches who will set up the live stream for the service.  We will provide suggestions for worship where no internet is available. Stay tuned for ways for us to be one body on Sunday, June 10th!  If you are interested in helping make this happen, contact Margaret Howe, confsecy@nyac.com.

Last Chance to Register

The goal of this event is to offer substantive practices to churches seeking relevance and revitalization in the 21st century. Our keynote speaker this year is Rev. Andrew Roberts, author of Holy Habits, and our promise is that all who attend will leave with new insights on the connections between spiritual disciplines and life-changing community engagement.
If you truly desire to be part of a movement "creating safe spaces where all are accepted, connecting the needs of people to the presence of God, and transforming the world through Christ," then this is the event for YOU! In addition to hearing, conversing and learning from Rev. Roberts, lunch, snacks and the book "Flood Gates" by Rev. Sue Nilson Kibbey will be provided. Space is limited, so please register right away. Any questions/concerns should be directed to Carol Merante (cmerante@nyac.com) or Rev. David A. Gilmore (dgilmore@nyac.com).
