ANNOUNCEMENT FROM YOUR DISTRICT STATISTICIAN

Yes folks, it is that time of year again - time when we take responsibility for that other portion of our roles as NYAC clergy:  the annual reporting of our statistics.  For those who do not know, I am our district statistician.  That doesn't mean I'm responsible for our district church reporting, it means I help coordinate the effort and answer questions.  The best way to contact me is through e-mail: david.piscatelli@nyac-umc.com.   If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me – the earlier the better - especially if you need any special assistance!!  (See below for a specialized training session.)  If you are new to the district, please make sure that the district office has your current e-mail address in the district e-mail distribution listing.

The table deadlines have been moved up this year so we will all be completed before Lent!  As Margaret How noted in her email on December 6th, the tables are NOW open and will be closing at Midnight Wednesday January 31st.  Please note, some of the information has changed as a result of the new quadrennial adjustments, so be careful when comparing to prior year.  Table I information should be completed already even if you still are accumulating all the information you need for tables II & III.  I’ll buy lunch for the first pastor to enter and submit all the information for their church.

Remember, as clergy it is our responsibility to make sure this gets done even if we delegate this to someone in our congregations.  It would be a good idea to let your finance and trustee folks know the deadline.  I will send as few e-mails as possible - but if I ask for a response please do so quickly.  Sometimes I just need to know that the message was received and will be addressed.  Margaret’s email contained with the instructions about logging in etc. (which are copied at the end of this email).   You can find the information, worksheets, and answers to most of your questions on the conference website:  http://www.nyac.com/tables.  I’ll be happy to help with anything that needs more clarification or explanation.

I will be offering a training session on Tuesday January 16th at Nichols UMC (35 Shelton Rd. – Trumbull) from noon-2pm for anyone needing first time assistance or a refresher.   Just let me know if you are coming so I have enough materials.

As you log in, please remember that all passwords and login information are reset to begin the year.  Your “local” number that will be referred to in the instructions is NOT your GCFA # but the NYAC # (starts with 2 and often called “AlignNo.”)

I look forward to another successful 100% year!!
David

Login Information:
The tables are located at http://ezra.gcfa.org .  The system has been set up for two users from each church.  We have designated them as "Pastor" and "Office".  Your login user name is 341 plus your NYAC church number plus the letter "p" for pastor login or the letter "o" for office login, So for example, if your NYAC church number is "12345", your login would be "34112345p" and "34112345o".  You can find your NYAC church number on any church statement, HealthFlex/Pension bill or in the NYAC Journal (www.nyac.com/2016journal).  Your temporary password is NYAC341 (case sensitive) for both the pastor and office login.  When you first logon using this temporary password you will be prompted to change your password.
