Methodists In New Directions (MIND) is committed to working for full LGBTQ inclusion in all areas of the life of the United Methodist Church. In doing so, we believe that it is vital to maintain the greatest transparency possible. We strive to make our actions and our intentions as clear and as public as possible—our integrity demands no less. Our intention is to keep the dialogue open, honest, and candid.

MIND will meet on April 30th from 3pm - 5pm at each of the following locations:

  • New Paltz UMC - 1 Grove St. New Paltz, NY 12561-1101,
  • Park Avenue UMC - 106 East 86th Street, New York, NY 10028,
  • Katonah UMC - 5 Bedford Rd, Katonah, NY 10536

We would like to extend an invitation to all of you to attend one of these meetings, whether in your district or as is convenient. Conversation and worship with laity and clergy who share a passion for welcoming and nurturing all God’s children may offer a new insight into the thoughts, hopes and concerns of fellow United Methodists.

We hope to encourage dialogue that will help lead to mutual understanding and respect as we discern how to live out our earthly mission of transforming the world by making disciples of Jesus Christ.

In His Name,

Rev. Bruce Lamb, Chair
Rev. Scott Summerville, Treasurer
J. Michael Cobb, Communications Director
Methodists In New Directions Executive Committee for MIND
