Dear Member of the New York Conference Community:
At the 2018 New York Annual Conference, a petition was passed expanding the list of people who are required to attend anti-racism training, so we are sending this to our global distribution list to ensure that all who need to, receive this message. This group required to take this training now includes:
Pastors, conference staff, all people with conference- and district-level positions, lay leaders (district and local), lay servants and lay ministers, Staff Parish Relations Committee chairs, all candidates for ministry, and the cabinet must take a minimum of 10 hours of training that addresses the on-going challenge of racism each quadrennium.
We're writing today to let you know about an upcoming opportunity to fulfill the anti-racism-training requirement. The event, The People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond: Undoing Racism, is scheduled for February 11th-13th at the Stony Point Center located at 17 Cricketon Rd, Stony Point, NY 10980.
This training opportunity is provided at NO COST to you. There is a $250 deposit due at the time of registration that will be refunded to you after completion of the training. For more information, and to register, please visit: https://www.nyac.com/eventdetail/12573420
Any questions can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to seeing you at the training.
