(Re)organized to Respond – District Based Disaster Response Teams

We often say that all disasters are local; ultimately, a local community owns its disaster and recovery. The most effective response is local as well. Toward this, we are working to re-establish strong District-based Response Teams (committees).

The Connecticut District will hold a first (re)organizational meeting:

Tuesday evening, April 18, Seymour UMC (90 Pearl Street, Seymour), 7 to 8:30 PM

The plan is to envision and strategize a district-based response team to include ERTs, Long Term Recovery Teams, Disaster Emotional and Spiritual Care, and Connecting Neighbors. All interested persons, regardless of your disaster response experience, are encouraged to attend.

Please contact Tom Vencuss tvencuss@nyac.com or 860-324-1424 for more information or to advise him of your attendance.
